The Spin Doctor Is In...
Sell Yourself Online!
Letting the customer decide has gone to a whole new level. Usually companies research, take polls of what the customer wants, challenge the competition, then implement into campaigns and marketing strategies. But a woman in China has actually started to campaign herself and her daily activities for only 3$ a dollars an hour! She is letting anyone who pays the price decide what she does for the day.
My burning question: Who would pay 3$ for someone to do something simple they could get a friend to do for free? (Reminds me of the strange things people buy on ebay for unknown reasons...like a grilled cheese Jesus)...but I digress.
My thought is, could this be used in reality? This would revolutionalize the idea of hiring people for work. It would work much like freelance PR specialists who "pitch" themselves to companies. Except all online.
This idea would be similar to selling yourself on ebay or Amazon. Everybody would basically work for themselves. There would be a database system where an employer or company could be able to look up someone with (for example) 4.5 stars or higher, who is availble at such and such time and date, who has these ideals, and who has been recomended by this, this and this. One would have a profile with ratings from past employers or fellow employees.
A similar program that embodies the idea, but lacks the punch is Elance. You can find professionals in your area who have been recommended by others and who have an agenda.
