Social Media Club of Cache Valley Takes Off
Members gather to network and learn more about social media

LOGAN, Utah-- Through guest speakers and panel discussions, members from The Social Media Club of Cache Valley collaborate in Logan to discuss Facebook, Twitter, and other social medias. Members of this new club have varing knowledge of social media and meet at a different time every second Thursday of the month to learn more about new web technology.

The next meeting, to be held at Club New York in Logan at 399 N. Main St. on Sept. 10, will feature guest speaker Loralee Choate. A blogger from Ogden, Utah, Choate made the front page of whitehouse.gov for her blog comments on health care. Approximately 50 to 80 people are anticipated for attendance.

The chapter has previously learned from experts in search engine optimization and online reputation management. The first official meeting in Aug. 2009 had specific stations where members could learn about Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and blogs. “We wanted to have a network here in Logan of like-minded individuals who can talk with others about popular social sites. It’s a really fun atmosphere and everyone is invited,” said president of SMCCV, Preston Parker.

The first Social Media Club began three years ago and is headquartered in San Fransisco. Inspired by the Salt Lake City chapter in Jan. 2009, Preston Parker and three colleagues started the Cache Valley chapter in July 2009. According to the SMCCV website at www.smccv.net there are 29 official members. The chapter meets at 6:30 p.m. at different locations every second Thursday.

I really like the layout of your Press Release. I could not figure out how to get mine to center and all of that in blogger. I also thought it was way smart of you to include the SMCCV logo with the release. Great work you are a fantastic writer!
